It is related that one day they came upon Majnun sifting the dust, and his tears flowing down. They said, "What doest thou?" He said, "I seek for Layli." They cried, "Alas for thee! Layli is of pure spirit, and thou seekest her in the dust!" He said, "I seek her everywhere; haply somewhere I shall find her."

Return to Pine Lake
Regular readers of this blog, and even more so those who attended the search at Pine Lake earlier this year, will remember the almost dream like atmosphere with thick mist and only glimpses of the Lake and the Pines. They attendees might also remember the notices recommending a visit in summer to see the wild flowers.
So, in preparation for our trip to Ralph Falls this Sunday, one seeker made a return to Pine Lake to see if Layli or the flowers were in attendance. Pine Lake as you can see above still maintains its bleak appearance as a whole but as you will see below the flowers are there in abundance if you look closely.
As for Layli, well we still have no sighting but I feel at Pine Lake we are as close to her as we have ever been.
Baha'u'llah compared Himself to a flower:
The Flower, thus far hidden from the sight of men, is unveiled to your eyes. In the open radiance of His glory He standeth before you. His voice summoneth all the holy and sanctified beings to come and be united with Him. Happy is he that turneth thereunto; well is it with him that hath attained, and gazed on the light of so wondrous a countenance. (Baha'u'llah)
With no more commentary here are some of the flowers and other sights of summertime at Pine Lake. ( A new camera has greatly improved the quality of our photos - try double clicking on them).
"Thou didst come, O my God, in the clouds of Thy spirit....." (Baha'u'llah)
