It is related that one day they came upon Majnun sifting the dust, and his tears flowing down. They said, "What doest thou?" He said, "I seek for Layli." They cried, "Alas for thee! Layli is of pure spirit, and thou seekest her in the dust!" He said, "I seek her everywhere; haply somewhere I shall find her."
(Baha'u'llah, The Seven Valleys, p. 6)

Who is Layli and why do we seek her?

Discovering the paths of guidance

"He beholdeth the wonders of Divinity in the mysteries of creation and discovereth the paths of guidance and the ways of his Lord. "   (Baha'u'llah)It was rather a low key search for Layli.  For various reasons attendance was low- only two of us turned up and, while Hollybank is very beautiful, it lacks some of the wildness we have come used to.  Still we picnicked. prayed, discussed the prayers and discovered the River Walk.  It was well signposted which could, I suppose be considered guidance, and it led to the the conjoining of the Rivers which one may consider part of the "ways of our Lord".  Why should we not find the wonders of Divinity in that particular part of the mysteries of creation?
