It is related that one day they came upon Majnun sifting the dust, and his tears flowing down. They said, "What doest thou?" He said, "I seek for Layli." They cried, "Alas for thee! Layli is of pure spirit, and thou seekest her in the dust!" He said, "I seek her everywhere; haply somewhere I shall find her."
(Baha'u'llah, The Seven Valleys, p. 6)

Who is Layli and why do we seek her?

So perfect and comprehensive

"So perfect and comprehensive is His creation that no mind nor heart, however keen or pure, can ever grasp the nature of the most insignificant of His creatures"   (Baha'u'llah)
The trip to Mount Puzzler was a very rare Layli search in that everything, or almost everything, happened according to the plan.  The site chosen for the picnic and prayers was, by general consent, beautiful.
The people who came contacted each other and each car that came was full and found the right spot.
The walk chosen was strenuous but people turned back at all points as they felt they personally had had enough.
And for the six who made it to Meadstone Falls there was a worthwhile climax to their efforts.

And as usual, along the way, there was beauty in everything:

Far be it from us to despair at any time of the incalculable favours of God, for if it were His wish He could cause a mere atom to be transformed into a sun and a single drop into an ocean.    (Baha'u'llah)

And to cap a perfect day, one of our number, confided that she was sure she had caught a glimpse of Layli.  Unfortunately it was too brief a glimpse to allow a photograph to record the moment.
